An alphabetical list of all the dimensions understood by the Unit Converter is below. Each dimension has many possible units or combinations of units.

Physical dimensions are measurements of physical properties such as distance, area, speed, mass, time or energy and so forth. Many different units are available for measuring a particular dimension; for instance, speed can be measured in miles per hour or in meters per second. The Unit Converter Add-in allows you to convert between units in the same dimension, but it cannot convert between different dimensions.  For example:  you cannot convert between distance and mass.  However, you can convert between miles per hour and meters per second (both in the dimension of peed) or kilograms and pounds (both in the dimension of mass) because they are units in the same dimension and so measure the same physical property.
